WHAT IS POVERTY?

Poverty is hunger. Poverty is not having a roof. Poverty is to be sick an not afford a doctor. Poverty is not be able to go to school. Poverty is losing a child because there are no safe drinking water. Poverty is to powerless and no freedom.

DID YOU KNOW THAT?

1 billion people lives on less than 1$ a day

2 billion do not have access to clean water

1 billion children do not go to school

2.4 billion lacks basic sanitation

        Now we can read that UN Millennium Goals set for 2015 will not be reached. Many countries, especially in Sub-Sara will not make it.

The worlds population will grow with another 2 billion people the next 25 years.

We need to do something TOGETHER to help the developing world

to reach the goals.
       

ERADICATE POVERTY NOW

THESE ARE THE FACTS:

A child dies every 5 second because he is hungry

Child mortality is 8 times higher in Africa than in Europe

There are 11 million orphans in Africa because of AIDS

800 million people goes to bed hungry

Poor people spends 70 % of their income on food

in the USA a family spends 10 %

THIS IS HAPPENING AT THE SAME TIME AS

The world is spending over 900 billion US Dollars on arms

Contradiction???
